Mike Dooley is a modern-day magician in the best sense of the word. Trained as a CPA, he has, through contemplation of the world's largest questions, emerged as a metaphysician of no mean accomplishment. Remarkable.

You know who he is, right? The TUT guy. Totally unique thoughts. He left accounting and went into the t-shirt business with his mother and brother. They folded the business and he began writing his Notes from the Universe, a five-day-a-week free subscription that reminds us of who we truly are. I've been a fan of his for a long time.

Then came Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams. Truth be told, I've read a lot of these sorts of books. Most of them focus on things we can do to make our dreams come true. These activities--setting goals, doing affirmations, visualizing--work. Sometimes. What's missing from most of these guidebooks is the theory behind why they work.

Not Dooley's book. His book is primarily about being, as in human being, not human doing. It's about the nature of reality if we'll just let ourselves see it, taste it, feel it. Mike Dooley has tapped into a reservoir of wisdom that most of us swim in but fail to notice.

The allegory that begins the book includes a completely terrific acronym for my all-time favorite earth thing: Peace. Pleasure Experienced by Accepting all Creation as it Exists, or, as Mike says, inner peace. Nothing is more valuable in this day and age.

The basic premise of Mike's philosophy, which is a very ancient one, is that thoughts become things. The things, people, circumstances, experiences of each life are the result of the thoughts the holders of that life think. You created what you've got now, and you can create something different if you don't like it or if you do. All true.

He draws our attention to the fact that we are powerful in our thinking either for good or not-so-good. We are also one hundred percent responsible for our thoughts and our lives. This is metaphysics at its best.

It always makes me laugh when people ask me when I'm going to teach an advanced course in metaphysics. No such thing, I tell them. There's only basic metaphysics. You are an individualized expression of God Itself. Made in that image and likeness, you too are a creator. Get creating.

Most of the "good" metaphysicians are out of print. They wrote books at the turn of the 20th century in order to remind people of who they were. Mike Dooley is a 21st century metaphysician. He has studied classical metaphysics, to be sure, but the far more impressive fact is that he's puzzled out his own answers to the great questions of human life. Who am I? Why am I here? Did I really choose this?

The true task of humankind is to choose what we want. Choose, let go, let the results come, and evaluate. Then, choose again. Get your feelings behind your choices--because all real choices are about what we want to feel. Mike is organized, thoughtful, and addresses our objections as we read.

He takes us through belief systems and how to find them and change them. Emotion, and how it works to create new realities. He swears up and down that the universe is a magical place just awaiting our direction. Nothing is impossible. No thing. He weighs in on action--any, small action that moves us closer to our dreamed of life will take us there. We act, and the universe responds.

He's thought it through from beginning to end and it shows in this stellar book. If you want to make some powerful changes in your life, you cannot have a better guide than Mike Dooley's Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams.
