Billy Ray Cyrus has joined his daughter, Miley Cyrus, in expressing his own distaste for the anti-LGBT laws that have been passed in North Carolina, Mississippi and, more recently, Tennessee.
The 54-year-old country crooner mentioned Miley, as well as rocker Bryan Adams, for "taking a stand" on the controversial new laws that harbor discriminatory practices against the LGBT community in a post on his official Facebook page Monday. Adams had also announced Monday that he was canceling his April 14 performance at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi in the wake of the state's "Religious Liberty” bill.

Billy Ray Cyrus's statement comes just days after Miley Cyrus offered similar sentiments on both her Instagram and Twitter. The 23-year-old star re-tweeted a link to a blog post written by Chase Strangio, who is an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) attorney, that condemned the anti-LGBT laws.
The pop singer also shared an screenshot of the blog on her Instagram.
Miley Cyrus has never been shy about speaking her mind, especially when it comes to her feelings about the queer community. In 2015, the singer opened up about the fluidity of her own sexuality in an interview with Paper magazine, and later clarified to Elle U.K. that she identifies as pansexual.
“I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age,” she told Paper magazine. “I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.”
