Miley Doesn't Think She'll Be Asked Back To The VMAs

Backstage at Power 96.1's Jingle Ball in Atlanta, Miley Cyrus confessed that she doubts she'll be asked back to the MTV VMAs after her controversial performance this year.

The singer had the world talking after she stripped down, twerked, and did questionable things to a foam finger at the Video Music Awards this past August.

The "We Can't Stop" bit came right before the release of Cyrus's newest album, "Bangerz," and provided fans with a window into what to expect from the record's songs. In an interview with Sonic, Cyrus discussed how the controversy surrounding her stage act helped her to prepare for the release. "It kind of just opened so many doors for me to be like, alright, I already pissed you off as much as I possibly can," she said. "So, now I can kind of just be freer and kind of do whatever it is that we want to do."

That said, Cyrus realizes that the risqué show could hurt her chances of having more award show opportunities in the future. "I doubt they're ever gonna ask me back," she mused. "But just kidding ... I don't know."

Cyrus can't be too unhappy with the effects of her now-infamous VMA performance: she's scheduled to perform live in Times Square this New Year's Eve.
