The charitable season began this year on Tuesday, November 28th, which is known as “Giving Tuesday.” The charitable season is in full-swing, with donors seeking out organizations that champion their passions and interests. This year, America’s Career Force, a 501(c)(3), received an incredible donation, making holiday dreams come true for one military family.

Tim Hentschel, the CEO of HotelPlanner.com, with the help of United and Hyatt Place, made a dream come true for a military family stationed overseas in Germany. Raefel Maldonado, who was born in Puerto Rico, hasn’t been able to spend a Christmas at home in many years and hasn’t been home in more than two years. His mother, who lives alone, was impacted by the hurricane and has had limited access to assistance and support from this terrible tragedy. Hentschel heard about this incredible Soldier and his family situation and immediately wanted to help. Hentschel said, “In the spirit of the holidays, we are giving away a 10-night stay at the Hyatt Place in San Juan for a military family stationed overseas.” He went on to say, “Thanks to our partners at United, we surprised the family with first-class round-trip tickets out of Frankfurt to start their ten-day holiday trip. In addition to the suite, Hyatt Place provided the family with $1,000 for food and beverages.”

America’s Career Force connects businesses that offer remote employment opportunities to military spouses and veterans looking to work from home so that no matter where the military sends them, they can continue to pursue their career. Leigh Searl, President and Founder of America’s Career Force said, “Technology allows military spouses and veterans to work remotely from anywhere in the world but there is nothing better than being able to be with family during the holiday season. HotelPlanner.com made that dream come true for Raefel Maldonado and his family in Puerto Rico.”

Service Members, past and present, and their families reflect the spirit of giving every day. These individuals are the ones who give and aren’t always on the receiving end of charity. This holiday season, Hotelplanner.com, provided this military family with such an incredible gift of generosity that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
