Get a job like a ‘normal’ person.” That’s what they’ll tell you.

Imagine this. You just received your degree and you can feel the pressure from family, peers and society at large. All of them repeating the same phrase that has been seemingly passed down generation to generation. But as Brent Thomas & Jack Pantalena’s new, hit card game highlights: that ends with Millennials (The Game).

As Brent says about today’s up-and-coming work force, “Taking a step back to look at ourselves as a ‘Millennial generation’, it’s hard not to smile. And not because we do things the wrong way, but because we do them differently.” Brent’s claim is supported by Millennial Branding’s Report which found 45% of millennials will choose workplace flexibility over pay.

And this is the core principle behind their new game: Millennials finding ways to work outside of the 9-5 schedule. Which is why, as the gameplay humorously suggests, millennials might be better off working on their own app idea, electing Bernie Sanders, or even going back to graduate school. Ultimately, millennials (players) are better off as long as they don’t have get a job (card).

In a Russian Roulette style, players attempt to avoid getting a job (card) at all costs. Besides, jobs are time-consuming, boring and don’t let you get back to what really matters: other stuff. With cards like ‘forgetting to byob’, ‘Netflix & Chilling’ and ‘winning participation trophies’ Millennials (The Game) is sure to have you on your way to Fun-employment.

Brent and Jack have described themselves, ironically, as their own source of inspiration. Having left their office jobs to pursue more entrepreneurial efforts, a lot of the game cards are based on their real-life experiences that Millennials go through.

The game takes only 2 minutes to learn and 15 minutes to play, but don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the game. Different strategies help you target other players, avoid getting a job (card) and be the last millennial standing.
