When Donald Trump decided to enter into the 2016 presidential race on June 16th, immigration immediately jumped into the national spotlight, sparking anger across the political spectrum. For over two months now, Trump has been a force of nature: grabbing headlines, drawing record crowds on campaign stops and always doubling down on his positions.

Many of the 2016 candidates weren't focused on immigration until Trump entered the race. Now, they have to come up with policy plans sooner than expected.
