Millennium Park Summer Concerts: Downtown Sound 2012 Schedule, Full Lineups Released (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Pack A Blanket! Millennium Park Summer Concert Lineups Released

After weeks of teasing, the city of Chicago has released the full lineup for its annual Downtown Sound: New Music Mondays series of highly popular free concerts at Millennium Park.

Acts include locals Joan of Arc, SXSW darlings Cloud Cult and the always-fiery Ana Tijoux.

While the lineup for the Monday series looks promising, it does little to cushion the blow of the discontinuation of two much-beloved Loop music events: Music Without Borders, and the daily lunchtime concerts that used to stretch throughout the balmy Chicago summer.

The Downtown Sound schedule release was accompanied by full lineups for Chicago's Loops And Variations electronic music series and the Made In Chicago: World Class Jazz series, which alternately host performances on Thursdays. Highlights include Deerhoof, Eighth Blackbird and an Ella Fitzgerald tribute by Jeff Lindberg's Chicago Jazz Orchestra that will kick off Jazz Fest.

The Grant Park Music Festival, an annual summer showcase of classical music, also released their lineup, which runs from June through August and includes performances of work by Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Dvorák and more. (See that full lineup here.)
