Mindy Kaling's House Is A Fixer-Upper (PHOTOS)

Mindy Kaling's got a new "Project."

In addition to her brand new, top-rated show on Fox, the comedienne has just signed up for a doozy: fixing up a 1926 home.

The Huffington Post has confirmed that Kaling plunked down $1.695 million for a three-bedroom, four-bathroom home in the Hollywood Hills area on May 10. Set high in the hills above Sunset Boulevard, the 1,599-square-foot property has enviable views of downtown LA, Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean. The one thing that's not so enviable? The home's "exceptional opportunity to develop ... your dream home," according to the official listing.

Translation: This place needs some major work. Now, to us lowly apartment dwellers, Kaling's new home looks just swell. Hardwood floors and a deck? We're sold. Still, we're guessing that a woman who instagrams photos of Alexander Wang suits and Celine sunglasses on the regular has much higher expectations.

As real estate blog Trulia notes, the home still isn't ready for its close up -- unlike Kaling, who is riding high on the critical success of her very first season finale.
