Mindy McCready Denies Killing Her Boyfriend David Wilson (VIDEO)

Mindy McCready Says She Did Not Kill Her Boyfriend David Wilson

Country singer Mindy McCready's boyfriend David Wilson died from a gunshot wound on Jan. 13, and though his death was thought to be a suicide, McCready is speaking out amid speculation that she killed her boyfriend.

In a new interview with "Dateline" that partially aired on the "Today Show" on Tuesday morning, the 37-year-old denied any involvement in the death of the 34-year-old record producer, whom she calls her "soulmate."

When asked if she shot him, McCready responded: "Oh my god, no. Oh my god, no. He was my life. We were each other's life." But when asked if she believed Wilson killed himself, she admitted she didn't know.

Wilson's death has yet to be ruled a suicide as police continue to investigate, and murder has not been ruled out, but the singer is not a suspect at this time. When McCready was asked if she thought her boyfriend could have been murdered, she said she didn't know that either.

McCready also slammed rumors that Wilson was having an affair, calling the reports "absolutely totally untrue," and says she's never gone through anything this painful, nor will she ever go through anything as painful again.

Wilson's death is one more tragedy from McCready, who has lived a dramatic life. In 2005, her ex-boyfriend, Billy McKnight, was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he beat and choked her. The singer made multiple suicide attempts herself over the years, struggled with addiction and in 2007 she was charged with battery and resisting arrest after a fight with her mother. The singer made headlines in 2011 after she went on the run with her son in the middle of a brutal custody battle. Things were finally starting to turn around for McCready when she got her son back this past December, but now her life has taken a tragic turn once again.
