There's something about a Chicago winter that makes a hot chocolate -- especially one amped up with a little booze -- impossible to turn down.
But what about the other three seasons of the year? Leave it to Mindy Segal, a James Beard-winning pastry chef, to create a year-round success story out of Hot Chocolate, her Wicker Park restaurant that celebrates sweets amid a menu of American classics.
Segal recently spoke with Chat Chow TV about her career.
"The whole idea of opening Hot Chocolate was to sort of have a restaurant that was through the eyes of the pastry chef," Segal explained.
