Miranda Kerr: 'I Actually Thought I Was Going To Die' Giving Birth

Miranda Kerr: I Thought I Would Die Giving Birth

In case you thought that supermodels were superhuman, Miranda Kerr revealed details to both InStyle Australia and The Daily Telegraph regarding her very real, very painful labor, telling the Australian newspaper:

“I kept thinking, how do women do this? But if other women have done this, I can do it, too. I was determined. I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I felt as if I was looking down on myself – the pain was so intense."

The 28-year-old model, who gave birth to son Flynn in January, opted for a natural birth, meaning she had no anesthetic to ease the pain of a 27-hour labor (and a nearly ten-pound baby).

Another person suffering through those 27 hours? Kerr's husband, Orlando Bloom. The model told Conan O'Brien back in May that Bloom did not leave the room once, saying, "He was there every moment by my side, I never even let him go to the bathroom...he had to pee in a bottle."

Eek. But things have improved since the dramatic labor and it sounds like this very attractive family is doing just swimmingly. Kerr told InStyle Australia that she's taken a step back from her modeling commitments and prioritizing home life: "Now the pace has slowed so I can spend the majority of my time with Flynn -- we have a bath together every night."

Now that is one close family.
