Miranda Kerr -- supermodel, mother, Victoria's Secret Angel, entrepreneur and most importantly, my girl crush. Although I've adored the Australian model since she got her start starring in Billabong ads, over the past month she has come to my attention not for her cute dimples or piercing baby blues, but for her amazing fashion sense.
Everyday as I click through celebrity street style images the photos that I'm drawn to are always hers -- in November alone she had over over 17 drool-worthy ensembles. Whether she's out and about with her son Flynn, walking the red carpet or running errands, she looks paparazzi ready in belted dresses, plunging necklines and sheer tops.
At first I couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was about Miranda that I loved so much (aside from her rockin' bod and beautiful face). But when I recently had the chance to meet her backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (yes, she is stunning, witty and intelligent in person) she was able to better explain her style and that's when it became more clear why she's my muse. Miranda mentioned that she is a very tactile person and when she is getting dressed in the morning, it's all about how she feels in the clothes (I too crave comfortable garments that feel good against the skin). She also said that she tries to play up one body part at a time (aka if you see her in a mini skirt, don't expect her to also don a crop top). She isn't afraid to take risks and she owns whatever it is that she is wearing -- and having the right attitude is half the battle.
Although there are countless celebs in Hollywood who have an amazing sartorial sense, Miranda possesses a certain versatility that makes her refreshing. How many people can rock a peter pan collar, a '50s inspired dress and angel wings? And any woman who can pull off thigh high boots and not look like Julia Roberts from "Pretty Woman?" is fashion gold in my books. Kudos Miranda, kudos.
