Mishka, The Talking Husky, Says 'I Love You' (VIDEO)

Most dogs express their affection by wagging their tails and licking your hands and face. But Mishka, the Siberian husky, can actually tell you she loves you.

No, really.

Mishka, born in 2002, appeared on the TODAY show to show off her "English-speaking" abilities. She can say things like "I'm hungry," "hello" and "how are you."

The dog also has her own YouTube channel, with more than 181,000 subscribers, as well as a Facebook page with more than 141,000 fans. She even has her own online store!

This video of Mishka saying 12 different words has more than 5 million views, since it was posted last year. You can find Mishka's YouTube page, which has more than 400 videos, here.

Mishka isn't the only dog with remarkable vocal abilities. There's also Oscar the Boxer, who can mimic ambulance sirens, and Fedor, the Russian cat that makes human-like sounds that sound like "non, non, non." And then there's Echo the talking parrot, who performed on this season of the NBC show America's Got Talent.

But are these dogs really TALKING to us? Do they actually know what we're saying, and trying to engage in conversation with us?

Experts generally agree that no, they are only imitating us, according to Scientific American:

Dogs vocalize with each other to convey emotions—and they express their emotions by varying their tones, he says. So it pays for dogs to be sensitive to different tones. Dogs are able to imitate humans as well as they do because they pick up on the differences in our tonal patterns.
