As part of M Missoni's "M Music" series - a partnership the brand created to promote upcoming musicians - the fashion label known for its easy, breezy, colorful caftans threw a casually chic summer soiree at The Standard's Le Bain last Thursday. For this particular evening, M Missoni celebrated the talents, beauty, and innate fashion sense of Danish performer Oh Land.

M Missoni clad guests like Byrdie Bell, Gillian Hearst, Jennifer Creel, Maryna Linchuk and Claiborne Swanson Frank took full advantage of the too good to be true weather (which led to a few Seven Year Itch fashion moments among some partygoers) and decamped to the roof's lounge chairs, where they indulged in Mojitos, lobster rolls, and the ubiquitous sliders. Nonetheless, when it came time for Oh Land to perform her set, the chicsters rallied and ventured downstairs to watch the former ballerina perform her set of music meets performance art (her singing was accompanied by balloons with her smily, comely face projected on them).

After the set, I had a chance to chat with the Copenhagen native, who was sporting an M Missoni brown and sunset-colored cape like dress. "Fashion and music are my two passions," she declared. Apparently, the apple does not fall far from the tree: her mother is an opera singer and her sister is a fashion designer. And things are only just heating up for the recent New York transplant. In addition to working on her debut album (to be released by Sony Epic in 2011), Oh Land's first single "Sun of a Gun" will come out in September. One to watch, indeed!
