WASHINGTON -- Add Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to the list of people who think Donald Trump should release his taxes.

Trump, when asked about his tax returns in a recent interview on ABC's "Good Morning America," said, "It’s none of your business," although he did not rule out releasing them.

Asked Tuesday whether Trump should unveil those returns, McConnell seemed somewhat perplexed by the idea that a presidential candidate would skip that step.

"Most candidates for president have, and that's been the tradition," McConnell told reporters on Capitol Hill, though he stopped short of making any demands on his party's presumptive presidential nominee.

"He'll have to make that decision himself, but that's certainly been the pattern for quite some time," McConnell said.

Editor's note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims -- 1.6 billion members of an entire religion -- from entering the U.S.
