New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio Is Unsure About Mitt Romney's 2016 Prospects

New York City Mayor Is Skeptical Of Mitt Romney's Chances In 2016

If he’s looking for an endorsement, possible 2016 presidential candidate Mitt Romney should probably leave New York Mayor Bill de Blasio off his call list.

The New York Observer reports that when asked about the prospect of a third Romney candidacy, the mayor laughed and replied, “I don’t know if three times is the charm.”

While de Blasio’s approval rating remains very low among Republicans, the mayor may have found some common ground with conservatives who question Romney’s presidential prospects.

At a Heritage Foundation event over the weekend, several Republican advisers and strategists voiced their disapproval of a third Romney campaign due to doubts about the former Massachusetts governor’s personal connection with voters and the strength of his donor network. The New York Times also reports hesitation among many former Romney staffers and supporters who are already leaning toward former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Perhaps most troubling of all, Romney has even lost the support of the guy with a Romney 2012 face tattoo.
