A secretly taped video of Mitt Romney describing 47 percent of the electorate as "dependent on government" has prompted an outpouring of reaction from conservative pundits and politicians, as many weigh in on what one pundit described as the day "Mitt Romney lost the election."

While some conservatives lept to Romney's defense, others characterized the Republican presidential candidate's remarks at the Florida fundraiser as "arrogant," "stupid," and reminiscent of a "country-club fantasy."
