Mitt Romney: Will Run Again In Four Years, For Some Reason

Oh, lordy! We miss Mitt Romney already. As a manufacturer of pure, unadulterated balderdash and contradiction, the man was second to none. One day, the people who backed his run will have to come to terms with the fact that he didn't win the nomination because the man was just incapable of saying the same thing twice or staying constant to any one conviction for more than three minutes. Romney underscored this today by giving us one last example of his mixed-up mind for the road.

Let's see. He just got through telling the throngs at CPAC that he agrees with John McCain on the issue of protecting the nation from terrorists, and, because he cannot stand the thought of Clinton or Obama surrendering to al Qaeda, he was going to put his country before his ambitions and drop out of the race so that the GOP could run "a national campaign," presumably around McCain.

But then, minutes later, Romney was back to not making a lick of sense. A "senior member of his inner circle" told The Politico that Romney "intends to run again in four years." Which either means that he is sure that his heroic gesture of dropping out of the race to prevent the Democrats from winning will be unsuccessful, or he plans to attempt to thwart the incumbency of an eventual GOP winner. Either way, it's another moment of glorious nonsense!
