Welcome to election 2016-where a wildcard Trumps everything. One of the most alarming things in this year's election is the lack of people voting their conscience and instead voting their anger. Unfortunately, this is happening on both sides of the aisle. One group I'm the most concerned about is the Christian Evangelicals. Maybe we should start calling what is left of Jerry Falwell's 'Moral Majority' the 'Amoral Majority' instead. For the most part, the base (not so much the leadership) seemed to always be able to vote their conscience when it came election time-whether you agree with them or not. I was raised in one of these conservative homes and I write not to degrade anyone's free speech or political persuasion, but mostly to challenge the Right on who they are actually supporting when they cast a vote for Donald Trump over the other candidates. I can't understand how Liberty University's President Jerry Falwell Jr. could publicly make a 'personal' endorsement of a candidate like Donald Trump. Let's consider a few of the many problems an evangelical would have with The Donald:

#1 Donald Trump has owned numerous casinos and promotes gambling. Trump has owned multiple casinos including Harrah's at Trump Plaza, Trump 29 in Coachella, Trump Casino in Gary, Indiana along with many others. He currently owns Trump Entertainment which runs the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Although the Bible doesn't necessarily address gambling, this has been a vice and a staple evil as seen by Fundamentalists and Evangelicals since their movement's inception.

#2 Melania Trump posing nude. Melania would be the only known first lady who has posed nude. She was photographed for British GQ on a bearskin rug before her and Donald were married in 2000. Conservative Evangelicals are against pornography (Matthew 5:27-28) and yet they are voting for the Donald and henceforth his bare-bottomed bride to be the First Lady.

#3 Trump's opinion on abortion. Evangelicals are adamantly against abortion. Only in recent years has Trump switched his opinion. Although Trump may agree with them now, in the past Evangelicals have been a lot less trusting of others than they are of Trump.

#4 Donald Trump publicly mocked a disabled reporter named Serge Kovaleski and has condescended women and others. He made fun of Fox News' Megyn Kelly when he stated "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever". Evangelicals-is that what Christ would do? No. Christ loved, ministered and healed the sick-He didn't make fun of them. If Donald Trump is doing this in front of millions of people on national television, how is he conducting himself in private?

#5 I don't think I need to bring up Donald Trump's arrogance and loud, boisterous behavior. The Bible contains many verses against pride and arrogance. Proverbs 16:18 says 'Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.' To say that Trump's language is divisive is an understatement. Proverbs 15:1 clearly states 'A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.'

I could go on and on and on. I'm not advocating the Religious Right should vote for any particular candidate, but I am challenging them to reconsider why they would vote for a man such as Donald Trump. It seems the Right has left and every man is doing what is 'right in his own eyes'. As I've already stated, I believe everyone has the right as an American to chose the candidate their conscience dictates. Whether you believe the points above are evil or not-the Religious Right does. I just cannot understand the apparent hypocrisy in someone who calls themselves 'Christian' and believes the Bible but would vote for a man such as Donald Trump. Every vote for Trump seems to be Making America INGRATE again, but no one seems to care. At a campaign rally in Nevada, Trump implied he could murder someone and still not lose supporters. Have we been so blinded by hate and anger that we cannot find our way? Look to the love and light of your God and Savior Jesus Christ. What would HE say? How would HE act? Who would HE vote for? Pray for our country, do good to those that hate you, be empathetic, encouraging, caring and let's love each other (I John 4:7-8)

Luke 6:27-36 'But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.'
