The Foley scandal continues: The LA Times reported that Foley had sex with a page, after he graduated from the page program and was no longer a minor.

NY Times: A former Foley aide asked Hastert's chief of staff to deliver a "stern caution" Foley to leave the pages alone.

"This time, people familiar with the situation said, word had started to spread that Mr. Foley had tried to enter the page dormitory after curfew."

Foley was trying to enter the page dormitory, and Hastert's chief of staff refused to give him a stern warning?

An aide to Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.) confirmed that he saw inappropriate messages from Foley to pages in 2000 - six years ago. According to a Wash Post source with direct knowledge of Kolbe's involvement says the messages were sexually explicit.

I can't find it online, but Lawrence O'Donnell implied on The McLaughlin Group yesterday that more Congressmen are involved in the scandal: The quote was something like: "another shoe is about to drop. Actually, a whole shelf of shoes is about to come down."

And the conservative Manchester Union-Leader calls for Hastert's resignation today.

AP: Sen. George Allen failed to disclose his stock options in companies that he helped benefit as an elected official.

Allen and his Democratic challenger are debating tonight in Richmond.

Denver Post: "Republicans are awaiting the Nov. 7 election with the sense of dread felt by Gulf Coast inhabitants as a hurricane makes landfall: They know a wave is coming and pray that the levees hold."

"CQ Ratings Reflect Crumbling Support for GOP Control: Last week, CQPolitics.com changed it ratings on one Senate race and 10 House races. In every case, the ratings indicate strengthening Democratic prospects."

- Foley's seat in Florida's 16th District moved from Safe Republican to Leans Democratic.

- Republicans' prospects have plunged is New York's 26th distrcit, represented by Thomas M. Reynolds.

"Other significant ratings changes last week involved the Senate race in Minnesota and the House race in Arizona's politically competitive 8th District, both of which now are rated Democrat Favored.

...As a result of these ratings changes, CQPolitics.com's Balance of Power Scorecard now shows the Republicans short of a majority of seats in both chambers."

According to a new poll conducted by the Stanford Advocate, Sen. Joe Lieberman leads Democrat Ned Lamont 42 to 39%, a statistical dead heat. The poll is a big change from the last statewide Quinnipiac University poll, which showed Lieberman leading Lamont by 10 points, 49 to 39%.

Philadelphia Inquirer: The Dems have a chance at picking up a seat in Pennsylvania's staunchly GOP 10th district, partially because of 65-year-old Rep. Don Sherwood's affair with a 20-something woman in Washington.

Sen. John McCain endorsed radical right-wing congressional candidate Randy Graf for Arizona's 8th congressional district. As the Phoenix Business Journal reports: "Graf is a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, a controversial group that patrols U.S. border and wants tougher immigration controls."

Graf is widely controversial in Arizona: Centrist Republicans, including Arizona Rep. Jim Kolbe, have refused to endorse him.
