With millions of school-aged children in Nigeria lacking access to an education, teacher Monsurat Thomas founded the Bolafade Primary School in 1999 to make a change. Her school started with just 86 students but has since grown to more than 600.

Thomas' dedication to her students is obvious and she has gone to great lengths to keep them engaged. Her lessons embrace both music and communication, and she encourages constructive feedback from her students and parents so she too can "grow."

Learn more about Thomas and her engaging approach to education in the video above.
