Monty Grow, Former NFL Player, Left 3-Year-Old Girl In Car While He Went To Strip Club: Police

Shocking Child Abuse Charge Vs. Ex-NFL Player

Police say former NFL player Monty Grow left a 3-year-old girl in his car Sunday night while he went inside a Clearwater, Fla., strip club, the Associated Press reported.

Grow, 41, was said to have parked in the lot of a used car dealership before entering the Diamond Dolls club. By the time Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies arrived, the girl's mother and grandparents had removed the child, who was uninjured, from the car, according to a sheriff's department release.

Grow approached the car as deputies investigated and admitted to leaving the child behind, the sheriff's department said. Investigators would not reveal Grow's relationship to the girl.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's website, Grow was charged with child abuse and released early Monday morning on $5,000 bail.

Grow was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1994 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1995 after playing linebacker for the University of Florida from 1989 to 1993.

WTSP noted that Grow was suspended for the 1991 season after testing positive for steroids.
