After Rick Perry's gaffe at the GOP debate on Wednesday night, Joe Scarborough believes that there are only three candidates who can win the nomination -- and he blasted the conservative bloggers who disagree.
On Thursday's "Morning Joe," Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski were visibly dismayed by Perry's debate performance. Perry had been talking about the three federal agencies he would eliminate if elected president when he couldn't remember the third.
The consensus around the table seemed to be that Perry's campaign was over, with guest John Heilemann noting that the gaffe reinforced Perry's record of bad debates.
After proclaiming Perry "finished," Scarborough named Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman as "the only people that can win the nomination." Then, he touted his accurate predictions about the GOP candidates and went off on conservative critics who have called him a "Republican in name only."
"I know it drives you crazy," he said, speaking to right-wing bloggers. "I'm right all the time. And I know my Republican party better than you know your Republican party and it pisses you off and I understand why it would. Because you're always calling me a RINO and I'm always right about my party and you're always wrong."
