For all those who love Moto X's powerful battery (strong enough for 24 hours of use), custom built capability (Moto Maker), touchless control and tough form, then get ready for something even bigger and better! Motorola's latest and greatest inventions, the incredibly thin Moto Z Droid Edition and super strong Moto Z Force Droid Edition are marvelous -- or "modu-lous" as some would say.
Currently a subsidiary of Lenovo, Motorola came out with the most unique, durable, powerful and flexible smartphones that are out in the market today -- The Moto Z and Moto Z Force Droid Edition. For all those who want the best of the best of smartphones -- something that is slim and sleek, elegant, high performance, and possess a little bit from each of top tier flagship phones (iPhone 7, LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and HTC 10), then the Moto Z family is the answer!
The design and workmanship on the Moto Z family is impeccable. Moto Z premium smartphones are super thin, with premium grade metal bodies and excellent fingerprint reader under the screen. The Moto Z is 5.2mm or .2 inches, which makes this the slimmest top tier smartphone by a top manufacturer. The Moto Z Force is a tad bit thicker to accommodate for its longer battery life and shatter shield screen. Its indestructible screen, that doesn’t compromise on brightness and contrast is very attractive to athletes, parents of young children and all those who have "butter fingers."
- Moto Z dimensions and weight: 153.3 H x 75.3 W x 5.19 mm (6.04 x 2.96 x 0.20 in) and 136 g (4.80 oz)
- Moto Z Force dimensions and weight: 155.9 x 75.8 x 7 mm (6.14 x 2.98 x 0.28 in) and 163 g (5.75 oz)
Performance is spectacular and fast, as they both operate on Qualcomm Processor Snapdragon 820 QuadCore up to 2.2Ghz, offers memory of 4GB RAM with storage options of 32GB and 64GB, and a microSD card for up to 2TB of extra space. The Moto Z battery is 2600 mAh (approximately 30 hours of usage, and the Moto Z Force battery is 3500 mAh (approximately 40 hours of usage). Both devices come with a headphone jack (3.5mm to USB-C headphone port adapter) and front facing speakers. The advanced nano coating technology on both devices offer a water repellent barrier against some exposure to water (accidental spills, splashes or light rain), but it's not waterproof (cannot be submersed in water).
The camera on both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force amazingly good, compared to its predecessors. The Moto Z rear camera is 13MP and front camera is 5MP. The Moto Z Force rear camera is 21MP and front camera is 5MP. The wide angle camera of the Moto Z family is great for all those who enjoy taking selfies and vacation photos. For the beauty obsessed, be sure to check out the Beautification (Beauty) Mode that enhances clarity and colors, while eliminating fine lines, wrinkles and sun spots.
