MoveOn Threatens Republicans With New SCHIP Ads

With the House of Representatives set to vote tomorrow to override President Bush's veto of the SCHIP children's health care bill, MoveOn has announced a major new TV ad campaign threatening congressional Republicans "who stand with President Bush and against providing health care for millions of children."

The ad, titled "Bethany's Story," will begin airing next week. It features Bethany Wilkerson, a two-year-old girl who was born with several holes in her heart. Bethany's parents were unable to afford private health insurance, and only because of the SCHIP children's health care program is she healthy today. [...]

USAction and MoveOn.org Political Action will release a 30-second version of the spot, which will be run in the districts of Representatives who vote with President Bush, early next week.
