MSNBC Guest Suffers Through Awkward Technical Difficulties (VIDEO)

New York Magazine's Jennifer Senior experienced awkward technical difficulties during an interview with MSNBC's David Shuster and Tamron Hall today.

Shuster began the interview, which was to focus on an article Senior wrote about President Barack Obama's media ubiquity, with a quote from Senior's piece, followed by a question about some of Obama's critics.

"I'm sorry, you know what, I hate to say this, I'm having trouble hearing you," she responded.

Brushing off what he thought was a joke, Shuster asked the question again.

"I just don't think I could answer this question without hearing it," a stuttering Senior replied.

Senior told Shuster and co-host Hall that, while she couldn't hear them, she could read the words they were speaking on a screen, which seemed to throw off the already-confused co-hosts.

Hall suggested that she and Shuster continue to discuss the article while Senior's technical issues were sorted out. Even as they did so, Senior could be heard offscreen, explaining the difficulties to someone.

We hear that Senior's earpiece fell off and got stuck in her hair.
