Mulholland Bridge Time Lapse Video: See The Entire Demolition From Start To Finish

WATCH: Bridge Demolition From Start To Finish In Under 2 Minutes

The Los Angeles Times has a time lapse video of the entire Mulholland Bridge demolition from start to finish. Appropriately, the video is set to "Flight of the Bumble Bee" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

The Kiewit Infrastructure West company's 36 hour demolition time, completed well before the Monday July 18 deadline, earned them a $300,000 bonus. The city of Los Angeles also saved an additional $400,000, even taking into account Kiewit's bonus, reports the Associated Press.

Kiewit, who was contracted to carry out the demolition, is actually the same company that built the original Mulholland Bridge. Metro notes that the company was then named Peter Kiewit Sons Co. The bridge was completed in 1960 and stood over a canyon, not a freeway. Check out some historic photos of the original construction and its eventual transformation into a bridge over the 405.
