Mumford & Sons joined Bruce Springsteen onstage Monday night to perform his 1980 hit, "Hungry Heart." The Boss was headlining Dutch festival Pinkpop and invited the British folk rockers to sing with him during his encore performance.
Springteen played a 23-song, two-hour-and-18 minute set, which included classics like "Born To Run" and "Dancing In The Dark" and new songs off his latest EP, Wrecking Ball, reports NME.
Earlier at Pinkpop, Mumford & Sons revealed that their follow-up record to their 2009 hit, Sigh No More, would be released on September 24.
Frontman Marcus Mumford reportedly told the crowd that the band had finished recording the album, with bandmate Ben Lovett confirming a fall release.
Fans of the band's first studio release, Sigh No More, can look forward to a sophomore album that isn't drastically different from their folk-rock roots. "There's similarities," Lovett told Rolling Stone. "Nothing's really changed in our dynamic as a band. We write songs together and they're very much based in our experiences. The instruments are pretty much the same, except for a few we've picked up along the way. For the most part, it's a progression. We don't want to reinvent ourselves."
