Munch Is Finally Returning To 'Law & Order: SVU' This May

We can't wait!

Richard Belzer -- known to viewers as Detective John Munch -- officially retired from "Law & Order: SVU" in 2013.

On Tuesday, Entertainment Weekly reported that Belzer will reprise his famous TV character for an upcoming episode of "SVU" in May. According to EW, Munch will partner with Fin (Ice-T) to take on a controversial fashion photographer. This will mark the second time Belzer has made an appearance on the show since he left.

"We love having Richard back on set," executive producer Warren Leight told EW. "This episode was perfect for Munch’s cynical eye, and just the right time for him to give Benson [Mariska Hargitay], and Noah, some much needed support."

While we wait on the edge of our seats to get our Munch fix, check out an upcoming clip of Wednesday's episode, called "Unholiest Alliance."

Tune in to “Law & Order: SVU” on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
