In a recent conversation I taped with Dr. Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention, Republican strategist Ed Rogers, and two journalists -- Newsweek's Evan Thomas and New York magazine's John Heilemann - we engaged in the parlor game of the moment: speculating about whom Sen. John McCain might pick as his running mate.

Dr. Land wants to see a Vice President Condoleezza Rice, John Heileman thinks Huckabee is still viable, Ed Rogers brought up former Ohio congressman John Kasich, and Evan Thomas chose not to play the game...Here is that conversation.

I also spoke recently with Willie Brown, the former mayor of San Francisco and the longest serving Speaker in the history of the California Assembly. Brown, who spent four decades at the center of California politics, spoke about the Barack Obama phenomenon and the state of the Democratic Party. Here's a look at what Brown had to say:
