My Minimalism Make Over Discoveries

Over the last few months I have been exploring my interest of a minimalistic lifestyle on a deeper level. Initially my application of minimalism was always linked to the physical items in my home. But after experiencing the profound emotional, mental and energetic benefits from decluttering my home, I decided that I wanted to experiment with this way of living and see what other areas that I could "shine" this liberating way of life.

So I set up a series on my YouTube channel called "Minimalism Make Over" and have been applying the idea of minimalism to other areas of my world, including gift giving, perfume (signature scents), and books. I am still working on other areas, with more videos coming up around electronic goods, make up, children, cleaning products and I am sure that more will come as I continue on with this journey.

However in going through this process, where I stop and take a conscious note of what I am choosing to let into my life and what I am choosing to let go of in my life, has left me with a deeper sense of tranquillity and my sense of understanding of what is important to me and more importantly my understanding of why something is important to me. I feel like I am a stronger, more stable person and generally happier. My life is far from simple, but it feels simple.

Sure, I get stressed, I can be disorganised, forget things and lose my temper....but I recover quicker, don't take myself so seriously and am able to laugh at myself more. And what I love the most about minimalism, is that I love what I chose to surround myself with on a much deeper and grateful level.
