Naked Man Matthew Ibarria Arrested After Police Chase In Georgia

POLICE CHASE: Naked Man On The Run

When the going got tough, a man in the buff got going.

Police arrested a nude fugitive in Georgia Thursday who allegedly led them on a wild and dangerous chase.

Cops say Matthew Ibarrias, 21, pulled out all the stops after they allegedly spotted him undressed and sleeping in his green Ford conversion van at a hotel in Kingsland, Ga. late on Wednesday night.

When Ibarrias awoke, police said he told them he'd get out of the car. Instead, he slipped the keys in the ignition and peeled off, hitting a parked Nissan and nearly running over three officers.

Then he collided with two cop cruisers, seriously damaging one of them, according to the Tribune & Georgian.

On the ensuing chase, Ibarrias turned down a dead-end street and sped towards a boat ramp at 45 mph, police said.

Ibarria, still naked, opened the door and jumped out, rolling several times. The car sank into the North River.

The suspect didn't get far after that. Police booked him on charges of aggravated assault, eluding law enforcement, reckless driving, failure to stop at an accident and multiple traffic violations.

Back in Melbourne, Fla., Ibarria was wanted on an assault charge, but it's unclear who he's accused of attacking. A more detailed report from TV station WKMG alleged that he sprayed an uncle with mace after the uncle tried to commit him to a mental hospital. But another account said Ibarria attacked his grandparents.
