Name A Roach: The Bronx Zoo's Unique Valentine's Day Present

Grossest Valentine's Day Gift Ever?

Valentine's Day is right around the corner. And this is the year to think outside the chocolate box. We're not talking about naming a star after your sweetie (so 2005) or staying up all night making Beef Wellington. Express your undying love by giving him/her a Madagascar hissing cockroach!

That's right, the Bronx Zoo has 58,000 of these buggers that can be named in your Valentine's honor -- a certificate will be sent to make things official.

Before you swear off the idea, consider some of the insect's characteristics: The parents and offspring remain in close physical contact for extended periods of time. They cannot fly away, are not aggressive and do not bite. Furthermore, they can scale smooth glass and withstand high amounts of radiation. That's a big statement to make for just $10, which goes towards saving wildlife in the world's most majestic wild places.

Head on over to the Bronx Zoo's website to secure a hisser.

Your love bug will thank you.
