Nas Explains How Harvard Fellowship Will Give Hope To Students (VIDEO)

Nas' Harvard Fellowship Aims To Teach Students Important Lessons About Life And Hip Hop

Last summer Nas officially made his Harvard University debut after the announcement of his fellowship joint venture with the institution’s hip-hop archive. During an interview with design firm, Ammunition, the legendary New York MC opened up on what he would like students to learn from the program.

“Hip hop represents fast life, for the most part. So hopefully they see there’s a slowdown period and there’s more to it than just running through it fast,” he said.

“It’s a marathon. You see ‘Harvard’ and ‘Hip Hop’ together. I hope it says something to the younger me’s (sic) out there. It’s speaks to them in a way like there’s more to the future than what we’re racing to. Hopefully this gives hope on an educational level.”
