Although a bleak survey revealed that many kids now turn to Google for traditionally grandparent-y advice on everything from history to recipes, grandma and grandpa still have plenty to offer their grandchildren.

In honor of National Grandparents Day on Sept. 8, we asked Huff/Post50 readers about the life lessons they wanted to pass on to their grandkids. We received an avalanche of responses, all given with the same amazing, over-the-top love that only a grandparent can give. And kids should listen up. Another study involving more than 1,500 children found that those with a high level of grandparental involvement displayed fewer emotional and behavior problems.
