No, Naya Rivera Was Not Fired From 'Glee' Because Of Lea Michele

No, Naya Rivera Was Not Fired From 'Glee'

Okay, let's all calm down and figure out what is going on with Naya Rivera on "Glee." Rivera's rep told The Hollywood reporter that "any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from 'Glee' are absolutely untrue. End of story." Although, "Glee" producers have declined to comment on Rivera's future with the show.

Speculation that Rivera had been fired began Monday, when the New York Daily News reported that Naya Rivera was "booted" from "Glee," following a disagreement with producers, and nothing to do with apparent "diva-off" with Lea Michele.

Rivera's alleged feud with Michele surfaced in mid April, when TMZ reported that Rivera may or may not have been "tossed off the set." US Weekly also reported on a "major altercation between the two," though sources did not provide much more detail than the fact that they "talk behind each other's backs -- a lot." Per the rumor mill, the fight was a result of gossip that Michele had slept with Big Sean prior to ending his engagement to Rivera.

One production insider told the Daily News that "one co-star would not have any power in whether another returns to the show." According to THR, sources say that rumors of Rivera being banned from the set are false, and that she has not received any statement from producers regarding her behavior. At the very least, the possibility of her having been vengefully removed from the finale is murky, given that Rivera is already on hiatus from the show.

E! News reported that Rivera was, indeed, originally slated to be included in the May 13 finale, adding that sources noted Santana (Rivera) was specifically written out. Although, E! adds that Naya has not been fired and that "her not being in the finale has nothing to do with Lea," adding that her role in the show's sixth season is yet to be determined.

Following all of this speculation and the brief trending of #NoNayaNoGlee, Rivera seemed to respond to the controversy saying she was "SO excited to watch" the show.

Obviously, the real tragedy here is that drama among the "Glee"cast cannot be resolved through a musical number.
