On Thursday (6-2) before Game 2, I joined Salt Lake City's 1280 The Zone to talk all things NBA Finals and NBA Draft on The Gordon Monson Show.

While I did predict the Heat to win a narrow Game 2 (and Miami in six before the series), I also harped on why Mavericks fans should feel optimistic moving forward, especially considering the measly 39 percent shooting Dallas held Miami to in Game 1.

I also stressed the necessity for the Mavs to simply keep things close and give Dirk Nowitzki an opportunity "to take over down the stretch." We talked about how despite Miami's Game 1 victory, the Mavs did some very nice things defensively.

In the second half of the segment, I broke down some of the key prospects heading into the June 23 draft, namely Enes Kanter and Jimmer Fredette, and, how the Ricky Rubio news will impact the Minnesota Timberwolves draft plans in the two spot.
