It’s been more than a year since NBC fiyahed Donald Trump for good and now the network’s entertainment chairman, Robert Greenblatt, isn’t holding back about his ― to put it lightly ― distaste for the GOP candidate.
In a post shared on his personal Facebook account, Greenblatt blasted Trump as a “pompous” and “toxic” reality TV star, the New York Post first reported. NBC, of course, played home to Trump across 14 seasons of “The Apprentice” and “Celebrity Apprentice,” as well as the businessman’s other entertainment ventures, like the Miss USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants.
“The sad state of affairs thanks to a pompous businessman turned reality TV star (whose show consistently ran LAST in its time period, by the way) who thinks speaking his mind is refreshing,” Greenblatt reportedly wrote. “It’s actually corrosive and toxic because his ‘mind’ is so demented; and his effect will unfortunately linger long after he’s been told to get off the stage.”
However, a source also told Page Six that as much as Greenblatt might believe his own convictions, he also benefitted tremendously from the collaboration.
“Greenblatt can be credited as the man who helped make Trump more famous, and appeared at the time to be delighted by the ratings,” the insider said.
Before Trump announced his presidential campaign last year, he inaccurately told reporters at Television Critics Association winter press tour that “Celebrity Apprentice” was the No. 1 show on television.
“They were calling me all of the time,” he said of reported tensions between himself and the network. “I think NBC always liked it. I was always pushing it.”
Check Trump’s Twitter throughout the day to see how he foolishly responds to the FAILING LOSER head of NBC for criticizing him in such a public manner. Sad!
