Will NBC's 'The Voice' Get New Celebrity Coaches?

With the news that NBC will, in fact, begin airing two cycles a year of its hit reality singing competition, "The Voice," a big question has been raised: Will NBC mix things up with new coaches for the winter/spring 2013 cycle?

NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt confirmed that coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton are all on board for "The Voice's" first fall cycle this year -- and NBC would obviously love to have them sign on for as much "Voice" as they can do -- but he also admitted that two cycles a year will probably be too much for them.

"We've got deals and options on all of them for the next two cycles," Greenblatt told Vulture. "But they are all such busy, working musicians ... their schedules start to back up on each other. We don't know yet whether it will make sense for them to do two cycles [a year]."

If you're thinking that it doesn't even make sense for NBC to do two cycles a year (many believe that it's been so popular because it isn't overplayed), NBC isn't concerned -- they have a plan to keep things interesting.

Greenblatt told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m not worried about it running out of steam, but we’re constantly looking at the format and the way the show lays out.”

Given that, there will be a few tweaks to the show come this fall, including Tuesday night shows throughout the entire season (as opposed to just during elimination rounds and final performances). NBC will also be extending the audition rounds, since they see some of the show's highest ratings, and getting to the live episodes earlier on in the season. Greenblatt also said that the show's signature spinning chairs will play into the battle rounds somehow.
