Just like last year, NBC is preventing tennis fans living outside the Eastern time zone from seeing significant portions of Wimbledon. Today it means that those of us in the West will miss the Serena Williams vs. Justine Henin match that is supposed to be on at 10 a.m. The match is important not only because both players are top rated, but also because of the questions surrounding Williams' calf injury in the last round.

The reason for the black-out is that NBC, as sort of a throwback, is delaying its 7 a.m. PDT coverage three hours to 10 a.m. PDT and is preventing ESPN2, which is live, from showing its 10 a.m. PDT coverage of Williams -Henin.

Thank God NBC has managed to lose most of its sports offerings to networks that actually will show them live.
