NBC vs. NASA: Mars Rover Beats Olympics Coverage (PICTURE)

What's Wrong With This Picture?

There's been a lot of talk online about how much the NASA Curiosity mission cost in comparison to how much the Olympics cost (hint: we care a lot more about advertising than we do about science), but money isn't the only thing these two have in common.

The real issue we should be talking about is the video lag.

Something's wrong in the world when it takes hours for footage of gymnasts vaulting to reach the U.S. from London, but we can stream a Mars landing on UStream within minutes.

It's 2012, NBC. Come on.
