The explosion that rocked "NCIS" seemed to have rocked Abby harder than several of the other cast members. So much that her nights have been filled with nightmares. Nevertheless, she refused to talk to a mandated therapist because she didn't want to share her emotional turmoil with a complete stranger. So she turned to Gibbs.
He suggested that perhaps it was time she reach out to family. By family, he meant her biological family. More specifically, the biological brother she found last season, but was unable to bring up the nerve to talk to.
And so she did, with a little help from him. While Abby chickened out and ran away, her brother came out and called to her. He explained that he'd felt a connection to her when he saw her last year. She was able to fill in the blanks of why that is.
It turned out, this reunion was exactly what she needed. Mere minutes after introducing her brother to Gibbs, Abby was fast asleep on the couch.
