Nebraska Election Results 2012 MAP: Presidential And Senate Winners (REAL-TIME DATA)

LOOK: Nebraska Election Results

This is where you'll find the Nebraska election results for the 2012 presidential election as well as for the state's Senate contest.

This deeply-red state has five electoral votes. Because Nebraska is one of the two states in the nation without a winner-take-all system for assigning its electoral votes, the state is being closely watched, even as GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has held a lead here since the early days. In 2008, President Barack Obama managed to win an electoral vote by winning the 2nd District.

Going into Election Day this year, Obama trailed Romney in the polls. Most prediction models, including HuffPost Pollster's estimate, predicted that Nebraska would go to Romney.

The race to watch in the Cornhusker state has been the U.S. Senate contest, where Republican Deb Fischer and Democrat Bob Kerrey were head-to-head going into Election Day, in what had become an unexpectedly tight race.
