Neel Kashkari Bested By Jerry Brown In California Governor's Race

Republican Challenger Defeated By Jerry Brown

Former U.S. Treasury official Neel Kashkari lost Tuesday's California gubernatorial election to incumbent Gov. Jerry Brown (D).

Kashkari, a Republican, finished ahead of state Assemblyman Tim Donnelly (R) in June's open primary. However, Kashkari trailed Brown in the polls throughout the race.

Brown will serve an unprecedented fourth term as California governor.
