Neil Patrick Harris said what we were all thinking about the lack of diversity on display at this year's Oscars. During his monologue on Sunday night, the 41-year-old mocked the most racially uniform group of acting nominees since 1998.
"Today we honor Hollywood's best and whitest. Sorry…brightest," he said.
The actor's shot at the Academy should really come no surprise. The hashtag #OscarsSoWhite began trending on Twitter shortly after the nominees were announced back in January. And at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon earlier this month, Harris snapped a selfie in front of all the Oscar hopefuls, with lighting that washed everyone out. He cheekily captioned the snapshot, "They all look so white! #toosoon"
