We’ve all seen “distressed” jeans before, but this “destroyed” sneaker takes shabby chic to a whole new level.
Neiman Marcus is selling $1,425 “Future Destroyed High-Top Sneakers” from luxury designer Maison Margiela on its website, and it the shoes completely live up to their name. The men’s sneakers are so mangled and dirty, they look like they previously moonlighted as a chew toy for dogs.
Considering Maison Margiela outfitted Katy Perry in this design for the Met Gala, the shoes are right in line with the house’s avant garde-inspired style:
The description for the shoe is hilarious, calling it “highly distressed.” But look at all of its features!
- Leather and textile upper
- Round toe
- Lace-up front with side lace guards
- Logo patch at tongue
- Padded collar
- Cushioned heel counter
- Rubber outsole
Who needs fresh kicks when these distressed ones have a cool patch and a cushioned heel? Hurry if you’d like to buy a pair, as it appears there are only two sizes left.
If those shoes aren’t quite your style, Maison Margiela is also offering another interesting pair of shoes, called the Pollock Paint-Splatter sneaker. Though they sort of look like a pigeon Jackson Pollock-ed on them, they’re “only” $595.
If you’re interested in purchasing any of the shoes, we suggest wearing them with these $425 Nordstrom jeans that are covered in fake mud OR these delightful mom jeans with clear plastic kneecaps.
