Netherlands Rock Museum Made Of Spikes And Speakers (VIDEO)

WATCH: Wild New Rock Music Museum

An architectural competition in the Netherlands posed this challenge to its participants: How do you create a building complex from the essence of rock-and-roll?

Architects MVRDV of Rotterdam and COBE of Copenhagen and Berlin met the challenge head on with ROCKmagneten, a rock-music museum to be built at a former concrete factory in Roskilde. The museum does not just house rock history, it promises to be rock's future, with walls made out of stereo speakers to facilitate informal creativity on the premises.

The first phase of construction is due for completion in 2014.

Check out the plans for a building which cranks up the creativity to the highest possible volume.
