Nevada Senate Race Between Harry Reid And Sharron Angle Tightening (POLL)

A new poll released on Friday by the Las Vegas Review Journal shows Sen. Harry Reid and Sharron Angle in a tight battle for Reid's Senate seat.

The poll gives Reid, the Democratic incumbent and Senate Majority Leader, a razor-thin 46 percent to 44 percent lead over Angle, the hard-line conservative Republican nominee.

Neither candidate is looked upon particularly favorably by Nevada voters. Reid is viewed favorably by 40 percent of likely Nevada voters and unfavorably by 51 percent of them, whereas 37 percent have a favorable view of Angle and 45 percent have an unfavorable view.

While a slight -- 51 percent -- majority of voters said that Reid's influence in the Senate as Senate Majority Leader was not too valuable for Nevada to give up, the 45 percent who said it was too valuable to give up provide a strong base of support. Reid has held small leads on six straight publicly released polls, although almost all of these leads have been within the polls' margins of error.

The Mason-Dixon Polling and Research survey polled 625 likely voters in Nevada and has a 4 percent margin of error.
