Hey, and welcome to my personal selection of new and upcoming health and fitness websites.

I hand-picked each of these sites because they provide well-researched, quality content.

Some of these are websites and bloggers that are still working hard to get their name out there and doing what they can to build a fan base. This roundup is my attempt at helping them succeed.

(But you should know that I am not getting compensated for what I do in any way!)

So visit their websites, bookmark them, subscribe to their newsletters or RSS feeds, share them with your friends, or help them out in any other way.

Also, the descriptions of what the websites are all about are their own words and they aren’t ordered in any particular way. I simply added the sites in the same order in which I connected with them.

1. Dr. Josh Axe

Dr. Josh Axe, DNM, DC, CNS, is on a mission to transform the health of millions all across America. A doctor of natural medicine, clinical nutritionist and author, he is passionate about helping people get well using food as medicine. In line with that goal, Dr. Axe has created one of the top natural health websites in the world.

Draxe.com has over 10 million monthly visitors, where the main topics include natural remedies, nutrition, fitness, healthy recipes and current health news. He’s authored the groundbreaking book Eat Dirt along with The Gut Repair Cookbook. Special digital programs include Healing Leaky Gut and Essential Oil Transformation. Back in 2008, Dr. Axe founded Exodus Health Center, and it quickly grew to one of the largest wellness clinics in the U.S.

2. Motivation Weight Management

Motivation Weight Management delivers a clinically proven weight loss programme across a nationwide network of 27 clinics in Ireland.

Since Motivation opened its first clinic in 1995, we have helped thousands of Irish people make positive changes to their lives by enabling them to both achieve and maintain their desired weight loss goals.

Motivation’s unique approach focuses not just on what people eat, but WHY, and provides the tools and support to help people overcome the habits, attitudes and emotions underlying overeating and other unhealthy behaviours.

At the heart of Motivation’s approach is the concept of Mental Weight - the individual person’s habits, motivation, stress symptoms, emotions and mental self-image. Motivation helps people to identify and reduce their Mental Weight so that it matches their desired weight. In this way, we concentrate on the person, not their weight, empowering them to achieve and maintain their long-term weight management goals.

At Motivation, our focus is not on the scales but on our clients behaviours; then as a result, the weighing scale will look after itself.

At Motivation, all consultations are one-to-one and completely confidential, so privacy is absolutely guaranteed.

Motivation succeeds where others fail because while dieting merely deals with the symptoms of being overweight, we tackle the root cause.

5. Ultimate Fat Burner

Founded in 1999 by Paul Crane, UltimateFatBurner.com has been dedicated to publishing science-based reviews of all your favorite (and not so favorite) diet, sport and nutritional supplements for close to two decades. Don’t be fooled by the name; this is a not another “fake reviews” site designed to pawn the latest miracle supplements.

The mandate of the site, Paul says, is not to discourage the use of supplements (Paul himself uses certain, high quality products), but to put things into proper context, to separate hype from reality, and to educate the consumer about over-priced products, shabby business practices, and unsupported claims. Consumers are constantly being bombarded with seductively bad information that sounds reasonable and “scientific” while appealing to their needs and desires, yet they have very few places to turn for a truly balanced perspective.

While Paul does not have a formal scientific background, he approaches the market from the point of view of an educated and skeptical consumer, who can make good, evidence-based decisions. The other half of UltimateFatBurner.com, Elissa Lowe, is a food scientist and former research scientist at the University of California at Davis. She’s the “formal” scientist behind the site.
