Wednesdays at Sunset - The London West Hollywood
The London West Hollywood will keep things hot all summer long with Wednesdays at Sunset. Every Wednesday the rooftop pool serves themed food, refreshing cockatils and LA's hottest DJ's including DJ Alex Trumbo, Almost Famous, and Chris Carter spinning to keep guests dancing all night. For the month of June patrons can enjoy New England Style Lobster Roll, Steamed mussels and a Strongbow Mimosa. July will be feature BBQ Chicken Flat breads and LA Street Dogs.
Tip: Reservations are required and bring a jacket. Rooftops get cold at night.
Tripel in Playa del Rey
Just steps to the beach, adjacent to the Marina sits Tripel, the quintessential dive-bar but with the upscale LA twist. Only serving beer and wine gives guests the opportunity to sip beverages they haven't necessarily heard of but will search for in the stores. The menu is eclectic but no matter what you order, you won't be disappointed. The Crispy Pig Ear Salad or Potted Duck & Rabbit Rillette sound extremely intimidating to the average diner but, I've learned that if it made the menu, try it.
Tip: Beach parking may be difficult but parking is available one block on the beach. Get there at sunset, watch the sun go down and grub down.
Lobster Summer The Palm
Until August 31 The Palm Downtown LA and West Hollywood are serving a complete lobster dinner for two possible for under $100. Their family-style portions and oversize wine glasses create a meal that will definitely send you home with leftovers. For $79.95 a party of two can munch on two starters, two sides and a 4lb lobster.
Tip: Join the 837 Club. Guests can accumulate points that can be used on future meals and merchandise. Get rewarded for your large meal.
With a newly appointed Corporate Executive Chef Alex Becker, Katsuya has upped the Sushi ante. Their new menu's includes 60 new items with a focus on grilled and noodle dishes plus some fun takes on Asian fare. If the Garlic Butter Shrimp, Pork Short Ribs or iTokyo-style Shoyu Ramen don't fill you up, extend your stay and "Build You Own" Frozen Yogurt with fresh fruits, sauces and an array of other sweet and savory toppings.
Tip: It is family-friendly, so bring your kids and enjoy the newly expanded outdoor patio to watch the dancing fountains.
